Somali civilians suffer from US attacks.

Senior Somali clerics condemn the US military actions in the African country which have resulted in the death of hundreds of civilians.

« The US forces say they only attack rebels, but they have killed many civilians during their military operations in Somalia, » said Sheikh Abba in the southern city of Marka.

The clerics also condemned the US planes’ bombings of the house of Aden Hashi Ayro, the leader of al-Shabab militias, in the Somali town of Dusamareb in the Galgadud region.

Aden Hashi was killed during Thursday’s bombing along with another senior leader named Sheikh Muhdin Omar.

Mohamed Abulfazl, a senior Somali analyst, said the killing of the two leaders by the US was a message for Ethiopia to continue its military presence in Somalia.

Al-Shabab spokesman Sheikh Mukhtar Robow Ali has vowed revenge on the US and ‘their puppets’, saying the insurgents would not enter into talks with President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed’s government.
