Le Président du Parlement somalien demande aux populations somaliennes de cesser les assassinats. // Deputy speaker calls for the Somalis to refrain from killing people

Professor Mohamed Omar Dalha, the deputy speaker of Somali transitional parliament has Sunday condemned the aimless assassinations of the Somali citizens and called for the Somali society to refrain from killing against the important people of Somalia.

The deputy speaker of the Somali legislatures professor Dalha has pointed that it is unfortunate to shoot the Somali people and suggested to the people to halt murdering the important people of Somalia and he called for all the people to crackdown those who are slaying the citizens of Somalia.

“it is good for the Somali people to refrain from killing educators, religious clerics, businesses, journalists and so on because it does not bring any benefits and we always reiterate to halt the assassinations totally,” Dalha told Shabelle on the line by phone.

The statement of the deputy speaker professor Mohamed Omar Dalha comes as more government authorities condemned earlier the assassination of Horn Afrik radio director Said Tahliil Ahmed who was shot and killed by unidentified armed men in the Somali capital Mogadishu on 4th January.

Les militaires éthiopiens restituent des camions qu’ils avaient saisis. // Ethiopian troops release abducted trucks

The Ethiopians troops in Kalabeyrka intersection in Hiran region have released several trucks belonged by Somali people which they have recently kidnapped from there, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Sunday.

Ethiopia invaded Somalia in 2006 to oust the Islamic Courts Union since then its troops have been protecting the Somali, weak transitional government in Mogadishu and Baidoa for two years.

Locals say that the Ethiopian troops began searching the Lorries traveling on that road and imposed illegal money as taxi to the trucks traveling on the road that connects south and central Somalia.

Reports from the region say that the release of the vehicles came after talks between the Somali businesses and the Ethiopian officials in the region and both sides have lately achieved to release the trucks from the hands of the Ethiopian soldiers.

The Ethiopian troops had abducted more trucks including buses and Lorries in around Kalabeyrka junction in Hiran region after the drivers failed to pay the amount of the money that the Ethiopian troops demanded.

Thousands of Somali civilians have been killed and millions displaced during the two year of Ethiopian occupation.

It is unclear why the Ethiopian troops are in part of Hiran region but reports from there say that the soldiers are afraid attacks from groups against them in the regional state of Somalia in Ethiopian.

Des groupes armés attaquent les forces de maintien de la paix de l’UA. // Armed groups attack AU peacekeepers

Armed groups have attacked AU peace keepers and government soldiers in Mogadishu early on Sunday, witnesses told Radio Shabelle.

Locals say armed groups attacked Jalle Siad Academy, a base of Burundian forces and Digfer Hospital, where Somalia government soldiers are based.

No group has claimed the responsibility of the attacks yet, but Islamist insurgents have vowed fighting against AU peace keepers and government soldiers.

Mortars were fired to the presidential palace yesterday, but presidential spokesman Abdullahi Khadar said the president ordered the security forces and AU peacekeepers not to return fire.

The sound of heavy gunfire could be heard around Mogadishu and its suburbs.
