Somalie: 3 journalistes arrêtés

Les insurgés islamistes somaliens shebab ont arrêté dimanche soir trois journalistes d’une radio privée basée à Baïdoa (250 km au nord-ouest de Mogadiscio) et interrompu les émissions de la radio, ont indiqué aujourd’hui des journalistes.

Des shebab lourdement armés sont entrés dans les locaux de Radio Jubba et ont ordonné aux journalistes de cesser les émissions, a expliqué à l’AFP Ali Mohamed, journaliste basé à Baïdoa, joint au téléphone depuis Mogadiscio.

Les shebab ont également arrêté trois journalistes de Radio Jubba: son directeur, Muktar Mohamed Atosh, le rédacteur-en-chef, Mohamed Adawe Adan, et un reporter, Mohamed Nur Mohamed, a précisé dans un communiqué le syndicat national des journalistes somaliens.

La ville de Baïdoa est contrôlée par les shebab qui combattent les forces du gouvernement de transition somalien.

En avril, les shebab avaient détenu pendant quatre jours le correspondant à Baïdoa de la radio privée Shabelle, sous l’accusation de propagation de fausses informations. Muhidin Hassan Mohamed, détenu à son domicile, avait été relâché après avoir dû admettre au préalable s’être livré à la désinformation.

La Somalie, en guerre civile depuis 1991, est l’un des pays au monde les plus dangereux pour les journalistes, selon les organisations de défense de la profession.

The Islamist insurgent forces of Al-shabab have closed an independent local FM radio station which operates in Baidoa town 250 kilometers south of the Somali capital Mogadishu, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Monday.

Reports from the town say that the forces the Islamic administration of Al-shabab entered the centre of the radio FM station of Jubba in Baidoa town and ordered the administration of the radio to be off air.

Sources say that the forces also took Moktar Mohamed Atosh, the director of Jubba radio and Mohamed Adawe, the editor from the radio station and detained in a prison in Baidoa town.

It is yet unclear why the Islamic administration of Al-shabab closed the radio station of Jubba in Baidoa town and also the arrest of the journalist who were working for the radio.

It is the second time that the Islamist forces of Al-shabab arrest journalists in Baidoa town, the former seat of the transitional parliament of Somalia and no comment has so far come out from the administration of Al-shabab.

It was over the past week when the forces of the Islamic administration jailed Muhudin Hassan Mohamed (Husni), the reporter of Shabelle radio in Bay and Bakol regions in Baidoa town who was lately released after a day.

Le Premier ministre somalien condamne les attaques au mortier contre le Parlement. // Prime minister condemns Saturday’s mortar attacks

Somalia’s Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Sharmake has condemned Saturday’s fighting and mortar attacks on Sunday.

Islamist rebels fired mortars to the centre of the Somali parliament on Saturday and they have also attacked two bases of Burundian troops from the African Union troops in the capital Mogadishu.

At least 11 civilians were killed and more than 15 others were wounded in Saturday’s attacks.

The premier held a press conference in the presidential palace and said the fighting and the mortar attacks killed innocent civilians.

He called for the people in Mogadishu to support the peace efforts and his government and he also called for the insurgents to stop the fighting.

The prime minister also said that the parliament endorsed the Islamic Sharia and that some people misinterpreted his speech towards the Sharia.

Le gouverneur du Karkar assassiné au Puntland. // Karkar governor assassinated in Puntland

Yasin Hussein Said, a governor of Karkar region in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland has been shot and killed overnight near kardo town in the centre of Puntland by unidentified armed group, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Monday.

Residents say that the governor of Karkar region was killed in Dudub village in Bari region and added that his body was brought in Kardo town in the regional capital of Puntland.

Sources said that the deceased went to Dudub village to mediate between two rival clans who fought there recently and was killed as he was trying to solve conflicts between the two clans.

It is unclear who was behind the governor’s killing and the reason.

No comment has so far come out from Puntland administration about the killing of the governor and reports say that murderers escaped.

Locals say that the police forces of Puntland detained at least 4 men accusing of being behind the assassination of the governor.

The administration of Puntland including the president, the cabinet and many people in the region expressed sorrow about the death of deceased Yasin Hussein Said and begged from Allah to rest his spirit into the paradise.

All the administration of Puntland and many people from the port town of Bosaso are going to attend the funeral of the governor who is expected to be buried in Puntland.
