La République de Somalie depuis son occupation par les Troupes des Forces
armées éthiopiennes connaît les pires désastres humanitaires.
Depuis janvier 2007, ces désastres humanitaires et crimes de guerres sont
pires que ceux au Dafour.
Le génocide et les crimes de guerre sur les populations ciblées du Sud de la
Somalie connaissent un silence implacable de la part de certaines Instances
Internationales à commencer par nos dirigeants de l’Union Africaine -UA-.
Ce silence implacable, qui de jour en jour ne cesse de tuer des civils
innocents, devient de plus en plus insupportable et dangereux avec les
risques de « Bagdadisations généralisées » par embrassement.
Est-ce que nos dirigeants, dans leur for intérieur, acceptent de tels crimes
en faisant des parts discriminatoires entre des pays « tolérés » pour
effectuer des génocides et ceux à être immédiatement condamnés ?
Si oui, alors quels sont les critères justifiant de telles discriminations «
inamissibles ?», mais franchement inacceptables.
Les Journalistes Somalis et leurs proches collaborateurs sont les premiers
sur la ligne de mire, souvent assassinés, sinon emprisonnés ou déportés ou
disparus forcés.
La Ligue Djiboutienne des Droits Humains (LDDH) reste très préoccupée de ces
exécutions et exactions permanentes et intolérables à l’égard des
Journalistes de la Somalie en particulier et des Journalistes de la Corne
d’Afrique en générale.
Elle demande avec insistance la ferme condamnation de toutes ces violations,
qui nécessitent et doivent faire, au préalable, l’objet d’une Enquête
Internationale.

KAMPALA: EHAHRD-Net CONDEMNS CLOSURE OF SIMBA RADIO
In a continuing wave of insecurity of the media in Somalia , EHAHRD-Net has learnt that Simba, a privately owned radio station based in Mogadishu , has been closed by Government forces, and two of its reporters have been arrested.
According to Network sources in Mogadishu , security forces attacked the station at "around 8:00am, surrounded its premises and ordered the management of the station to shut down the Radio." The staff arrested include the director, Abdullahi Ali Farah and reporter Mohammed Farah. No reason has yet been adduced as to the cause of the closure.
"We are deeply appalled by the ceaseless daylight attacks on the media in Somalia and demand that the TFG authorities take action against their violating forces if the actions are not sanctioned by them. This continued harassment of the media must stop and Somalia must be aided by the international community by all means to return to the rightful track of respecting not only the rights of the media, but human rights in general,"

APPEAL:
. EHAHRD-Net appeals to the TFG authorities to re-open Simba Radio and to immediately and unconditionally release its arrested staff;
. The TFG authorities must fully respect freedom of the press as enshrined in the Transitional Federal Charter, and in regional and international human rights instruments;
. The Network further calls upon the UN, and the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights to use their relevant mandates to ensure that Somali authorities desist from their ill-treatment of the media.
All Network members are encouraged to write to the Somali authorities furthering this appeal.
