Un ministre de Puntland opposé au déploiement de plus de troupes étrangères en Somalie

Le vice ministre de l’information de la région semi autonome de Puntland, Abdishakur Mire Adenn, a fermement critiqué lundi la déclaration faite par le ministre somalien des Affaires étrangères au sujet du déploiement de plus de troupes étrangères dans le pays.

«Les Somaliens sont fatigués de déploiement de troupes étrangères. C’est le moment de la réconciliation et non de la violence, a indiqué Abdishakur Mire Aden.

«Le gouvernement d’unité doit unir les factions belligérantes, plutôt que de demander le déploiement de plus de troupes étrangères dans le pays », a-t-il ajouté.

Vendredi, le tout nouveau ministre somalien des Affaires étrangères, Mohamed Abdulahi Omaar, avait demandé aux Conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies de déployer des bataillons supplémentaires en provenance de l’Ouganda et du Burundi.

Le but est de soutenir le gouvernement d’union nationale de la Somalie qui fait face aux énormes problèmes liés à l’insurrection islamiste.

Plusieurs universitaires, des intellectuels, des islamistes, ainsi que les chefs de clan ont également réagi à la déclaration faite par le ministre.

La Somalie, qui n’a pas de gouvernement fonctionnel depuis 1991, période à laquelle les seigneurs de guerre somalien ont renversé l’ancien régime de Mohamed Siad Barre, fait actuellement des progrès pour restaurer la paix dans le pays.

Somalia’s Prime Minister, Omar Abdirashid Ali, held a press conference in the presidential palace in Mogadishu on Monday and made an apology about the foreign minister’s demand of extra foreign troops.

The foreign minister of Somalia, Mohamed Abdulahi Omaar requested from Uganda and Burundi to send extra peacekeepers to Somalia during a speech before the Security Council on Friday.

The premier talked about many issues including the issue of demanding foreign troops and he said that he would never be pleased what ever that hurts the feeling of the people.

He said that the cabinet agreed that the foreign minister should talk about the issue him self and held a press conference.

Clerics, Intellectuals, and civil society organizations in Somalia condemned the demand of the foreign minister.

Des islamistes de la tribu Hizbul Islam désavouent leur leader et le remplacent par un autre candidat. // Islamists dismiss their leader

Members from Hizbul Islam (Islamic Party) announced Monday in a meeting held in former pasta factory in north Mogadishu they have sacked their leader Sheik Omar Iman Abu Bakar and nominated Sheik Mohamed Hassan Amey as their leader.

They have also nominated their spokesman as Sheik Da’ud Mohamed Abtidon. Mr. Abtidon, the new spokesman of Hizbul Islam said “We fired the former leader because he broke the rules of the Party.”

He also said that Hizbul Islam fought battles that their leader did not aware of and added that he rejected the calls by the Somali clerics who urged Islamists to stop the fighting.

The Somali Uluma Association called for earlier all Islamist fighters to stop the fighting and demanded the African Union troops to be withdrawn from Somalia with in 120 days.

Sheik Yusuf Mohamed Siad better known as Indho Ade, a member of Hizbul Islam said they support the decisions by the scholars.

The group accused their former leader that he opposed the calls of the scholars.

Les autorités du Puntland déclarent que la Somalie n’a pas besoin d’armées étrangères sur son sol. // Puntland says that Somalia does not need foreign troops

The semi-autonomous region of Puntland has mentioned that Somalia does not need to bring any foreign troops in the country, official told Shabelle radio on Monday.

Abdishukur Mire Aden, a deputy information minister of Puntland said that Somalia does not need any foreign troops at the current time adding that it is good for all the Somali people and each of Somali clan to solve its residences to reach peace and stability.

“The Somali people own their administration alone and can keep their administration but to keep foreign troops is nothing so the Somali people should understand that,” Mr. Abdishakur said. It is very important to talk with those whose who are against the government instead demanding foreign troops come in Somalia and fight, he added.

The statement of the deputy information minister of Puntland comes as the foreign affairs minister of the transitional government Mr. Mohamed Abdullahi Omar demanded from the UN Security Council in a meeting in New York to bring extra foreign troops in Somalia.
