The Union of Islamic Courts has vowed to continue fighting foreign forces in Somalia until all Ethiopian forces leave the country.
“We will continue to attack all foreign forces within the country including the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM), Uganda and the Ethiopians,” a spokesman for the Union of Islamic Courts (UIC), Abdirahim Issa Adow told Press TV on Tuesday.
“If it is God’s will, the Ethiopian forces will be forced to leave the country very soon,” he added.
Adow also confirmed that UIC forces have killed more than 120 Ethiopian soldiers over the last 12 hours.
Meanwhile, riled Ethiopian soldiers killed more than nine Somali soldiers, and seriously injured 11 others at a government checkpoint south of the capital Mogadishu.
Somalia has been without a central government for 17 years and for the past 17 months, the interim government has been struggling to exert control over the country.
