A roadside bomb blast hits a U.N. vehicle carrying UN officials in Merca town southern Somalia injuring foreign official later on Monday according to eyewitnesses.
The explosion happened on the coastal highway at the northern entrance to the town Bufow area when the vehicle that belongs to UNPF that carries out district management buildings.
The injured foreign official was reported to be Italian while his driver died at the spot.
The injury of the official was reported to be serious.
Eyewitnesses reported that the blast has partially destroyed the vehicle.
Its yet unknown the motive/groups behind the blast that was beleaguered on UN vehicle.
