Following unknown armed men have abducted two WFP aid workers between Balad and Jowhar townsin the Middle Shabelle region they have been freed over night according to co-worker.
The two workers have seized while they were conducting nutritional works in the region as well they were handed over to UNICEF.
It’s yet unknown the motive behind their seizure.
The spate of kidnappings and killings in Somalia has hindered humanitarian work in the war-torn Horn of Africa country, where the UN says one of the world’s worst humanitarian catastrophes is unfolding.
No group has claimed responsibility of that brief kidnapping.
An official of WFP told Shabelle that the aid workers have not been harmed.
Somalia had been without central government since 1991 after dictator Mohamed Siad Bare was ousted from power by armed tribal militias those as a final point turned into each other
