Sheikh Mohamed Matukade, the Chairman of the Supreme Court for the Bay and Bakool in Somalia’s Baidoa region is killed by unknown gunmen.
Six armed men, covering their faces with masks, attacked Matukade at a marketplace in Baidoa town on Friday a Press TV correspondent reported from Somalia.
The gunmen sprayed Matukade with bullets and fled the area. The Somali officials died at the scene, where no government soldier was present at the time.
Somalia has been without an effective central government since President Siad Barre was overthrown in 1991. Since then, the African state has been plagued with ensuing clashes between the insurgents and Ethiopian-backed forces of the transitional government.
