Somalie : Une base de la force de l’UA attaquée à Mogadiscio

Une base de la force de paix de l’Union africaine en Somalie (Amisom) a été attaquée jeudi par des insurgés dans le sud de la capitale Mogadiscio, ont indiqué des sources concordantes.

Selon un porte-parole de l’Amisom, le Lieutenant-colonel Ciza, des hommes armés ont tiré des obus de mortier sur une base de soldats du Burundi de la force de l’UA dans le sud de Mogadiscio.

Un insurgé a été tué au cours des combats qui ont suivi et un véhicule de l’Amisom a été endommagé, a-t-il fait savoir.

De leur côté, des habitants ont assuré qu’au moins quatre maisons avaient été endommagées lorsque des mortiers tombaient sur les habitations.

Le Président du Somaliland rencontre le Premier ministre éthiopien, Mélés Zenawi.// President Rayaale Meets Ethiopia PM

The government delegation led by the President of Somaliland, Dahir Rayaale Kahin met several officials in Addis today. As per press release by the by the President’s secretary, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Isse, the President received the Britain’s ambassador to Ethiopia, Mr. Norman Ling and his deputy, Mr. John Marshal. The two sides discussed about the relationship between the two countries as well as other issues concerning the two governments. The President from his side briefed the Ambassador about his trip to UK and the warm welcome he received from the UK government.

At 3:00pm today, the President met the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Mr. Meles Zenawi in his office. The two leaders discussed issues concerning the region in general and the bilateral relationship between Somaliland and Ethiopia. The meeting which took around one hour was said to be successful.

The Somaliland ambassador to Ethiopia, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Nuriye, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abdillahi Mohamed Du’aleh and the Personal secretary of the President, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Isse were present during the meeting.

The president is expected to come back to Somaliland in the coming days.

Les tribunaux islamiques demandent, par la voix de leur porte-parole, au Gouvernement somalien d’instaurer la Charia dans le pays. // ICU calls for Somali government to implement Sharia law

Sheik Abdirahin Issa Adow, a spokesman of the Islamic Courts Union for the operations has called for the transitional government on Friday to implement to rule the country with Sharia law.

The spokesman said that the government is required to implement the Sharia law though it had accepted to rule the country with Sharia law.

“We are suggesting for the transitional government to assure and implement the promise as it has already said for ruling the country and the people of Somalia with Sharia law and to prepare the courts, the judges and the clerics,” Sheik Abdirahin said.

On the other hand the spokesman of ICU Sheik Abdirahin Issa Adow said that it was unfortunate those who opposed the decision of the government for the implementation of Sharia law adding that those people are seen that that they are against the Sharia law.

“We know that the president has already mentioned that the government wants to rule the country with Sharia law and we know that he has been the leader of the Islamic Courts Union so we welcome that matter and the people who refused are seen that they are going to other aims,” the spokesman added.

The statement of the ICU spokesman for the operations Sheik Abdirahin Isse Adow comes as the transitional government of Somalia approved earlier to rule the country with Sharia law though the Islamic Insurgent Organizations of al-Shabab and Hisbul Islam (Islamic party) pointed out the statement was something to deceive the Somali people.
